30 second music video treatment (10MB)

Re: 30 second music video treatment (10MB)

I really liked the pull from the radio and the dripping water.
Will RPM be staring in this video? If he is, I would introduce him sooner.

Thanks for checking it out. This is a treatment to show the manager -- I will definitely introduce RPM sooner ;)

That looks awesome, it was so good, I downloaded it twice! (not really)

Nice B&W work. Amazing...loved the clouds outside and the belly shot. Seriously super impressed!!!

Introducing him earlier would be better...but I wouldn't totally show him with an establishing shot...make me want to watch to find more about him or the group.

The only thing I did'nt get was the dreamcatcher and the mosaic images...they just seemed out of place in this shortened version.

Post the whole thing as soon as you are done.

Thanks for showing it.

Kip

What were your screen settings? (if you don't mind.)

That was cool :) I'm not sure when people what suggestions -- it was good the way that it is. After watching it a coulple of times the only shot that I think you might shorten is the speaker so the viewer can't quite tell what your doing.

Nice job

Thanks for watching. With the dreamcatcher, I was trying to literally match shots to lyrics -- "girl of my dreams."

As for screen settings, do you mean the .MOV itself? I edited in Vegas and used the deault NTSC settings.

Re: 30 second music video treatment (10MB)

I am not down for "see-say" music videos, kinda a hack technique. It often forces edits that do not flow well in the scope of the whole piece.

Black and White was nice, the tone of the video and the composition of the shots worked well with the lack of color. It acctually looks artistically done, rather then the many projects I have seen that were just shot in B&W for the novelty of it.

I might think about a tripod or some other medthod to remove some of the shake from the shots. I understand the handheld look, the problem is small camcorders produce more shake, and a very different type of shake than a larger shoulder mounted camera would do; and that shake tends to make footage look more "homemade" than it should.

Lots of great images though and they really fit well with the song.
