Sorry but i'm at very beginnin and i need some help:

1) When do you guys use the RODS SUPPORT for DVX100B? Only whrn you put on it an adaptor 35mm cause it is heavy?

2) For about 1.000$ can you suggest me a good tripod that can give me a great flexibility?

3) Do exist two version of DVX100B (one for NTSC and one for PAL) or is there just one DVX100B. If there are two version, what should i get? I live in Europe.

Sorry for my bad english

thanks

So if i buy the PAL version i cannot use my footage on a NTCS television. That is not a problem for my but, just for curiosity, if i shoot tha same thing with same setu up with DVX, PAL first and NTCS then, and i reverse onto film 35mm and i screen them, what give me the best quality? Or are they exactly the same? And what if shoot something with a DVX PAL and then i want to see in an NTCS television? Can i convert it from PAL to NTCS without loose resolution or what?

thank all e sorry for my crappy english :)

ciao

PAL is a little higher-resolution than NTSC, so in theory, it could make for a slightly better film transfer -- though the PAL camera shoots 25p, so there's some adjustment necessary to transfer to 24 fps film.

Most NLEs can render PAL footage as NTSC. There will be a resolution loss, but that's mostly because NTSC is slightly lower-resolution.

Almost? :)
Anyway it means that if i buy the pal version i only can buy the accessories for the pal version? Or are the accessories (lens, adapter etc) compatible with both versions?

tnx

Many thanks but let me ask few other stupid question:

- Is the ANAMORPHIC ADAPTOR and 35mmLens Adaptor the same things? And what its mort important to buy? :)

So now, when i will get my DVX100 what is my next step?
I have the microphone shotgun kit and some set of lights. I think i need

1)Good tripod (budget 1.000,00$)
2)Good hard case (i'm gonna buy a pelican one)
3)???? what do you seggest? (budget left 2.000,00$)

The anamorphic adapter allows you to shoot full resolution 16:9 widescreen images. 35mm adapters allow you to mount 35mm lenses so that you get a shallow depth of field. What is more important all depends on your tastes. I don't own either.
