Ok i know what cach is when refering to external hardrives.
my question is would i be stupid to get a 120gig hard drive with a 2mb cach or just shell out the extra cash and get one with a 8mb cach? i know more is always better but do i really need to have it? i found a good deal on a lacie 120gig external harddrive for 159. so thats my question. should i go for it?
thanks.

Re: 2mb cach vs 8mb cach.

For DV it doesn't make a huge difference, in fact, there won't even be a noticeable difference in performance in almost all cases. If you can't find a better deal, then go for it.

If you look at circuit city they have a western digtal 120 gig 8meg cach for $59 after a $70 rebate. mike

I have had much better luck with 8mb drives not getting bogged down after many hours of continuous access.
