2fps Night Driving - HVX - StickyPod

Cool Dude. Do another one where you stay in the downtown area and take lots of left and right turns. Or maybe do it where there is more traffic and weave in and out some for more motion.

I think Barry should shoot something driving down the strip. Of course he'd have to stop every 10 seconds. But it would look cool.

The big question is,,,, did you run that light on the last right turn? ;)

Technically, a right turn on red is legal but it was more of a "rolling" stop. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I agree, I like the look of the trails in the turns. It would make for some good motion.

Thanks for all the good feedback everybody!

That was very cool. I am so very tempted to play. I am also about to order a sticky pod now......

The StickyPod is a good, inexpensive way to do truck shots but BE CAREFULL with a camera as heavy and expensive as the HVX. See my earlier post about no extenders and strap it down tight.

Good luck!

Post footage!

Thanks, just ordered mine. I will be testing long before I hit the highway.... Hard to think of my HVX sitting on the pavement... :(

The shutter was at 350 degrees which lets in a lot of light, even at night so the iris was at f3.4 instead of wide open.

Just curious, but where did you film that? I notice you're from Kansas City, MO... I'm from St. Charles, Missouri, and I could've sworn parts of that footage looked familiar -- I've been to the KC area a few times, so its possible I'm been where you filmed that...

I was driving on Highway 169 heading south across the Broadway bridge into Downtown KC.

link doesn't work for me...was it taken down? Anyone want to transfer me the footage, I'd love to see it.

Hey! Cool to see you doing that, I got my pro pack a few weeks ago but dident want to strap my HVX onto anything in 15 degree weather. I wish I could see the footage! My guess it the best thing to protect the camera while its mounted would be cold weather housing w padding or some sort of rain protector made for the HVX, in case it falls off the suction cups. I also taped up every part of the CNC'd metal so that if the cups fail, the car's paint will not be scratched. It can be pretty sharp, especially along the base.

I'm going to be doing a car show for a local television station with my freind who works at a car club/detail shop in the area. He will be hosting it as he has access to an aston marton vanquish and his own special edition mini cooper. Other car club members have the usual assortment of lambos, ferraris, ect. so needless to say I'm pretty exited to get started, promote the car club (which is awesome) and make some tight segments.

I wish I could see how shaky the footage is, so you used no extenders? you used the ball joint of course?
