28-135 F4 power zoom lens

Saw that, looks really interesting! Says "under development" so I wonder how long it will be until it's released? And what the price will be? And will it have OSS? Face detection? Will it work with the FS700 or repeat the 18-105 fiasco? ;)

Yes, let's hope so! But by the look of that lens alone it really looks like a serious lens. They would be stupid not to make it work on the FS100/700 this time around!

Shows on the ad as A mount, so on a A-E speed booster it would be about an 20-90 f2.8... now that's a really nice range and speed.... almost an Ang 17-102, certainly the most useful range of that bad boy

But in the interview he said E mount, in that case it's bit long to be my first choice for general use on S35

It says alpha mount. Which is Sony's new collective name for A and E mounts. Which makes some sense for e mount cameras as you can adapt a mount lenses to them. Less so for a mount cameras that can't use e mount lenses.

This is one is e mount though.

And with the A7s all these f4 lenses are starting to make perfect sense. With a full frame lens with only 12 mega pixels you get the light sensitivity enough and also an f4 lens on a full frame should give about the same depth of field as a 2.8 on a S35.
 
Hmm, this lens range seems brilliant for the A7S but on FS100/700, that 28-135 is going to be more like 42-202mm, which is... not extremely appealing, for me at least.

I'd be surprised if it lists under $3500USD.
