25P question

I have recently filmed with a DVX100b Pal on a French Trip. I filmed manly in 25p, however when starting a new project as 25p in Xpress Pro HD 5.2 the material dos not lock at all progressive. I have digitized the same video in to Vages just to see how it would work in that progame, and found that the material played with out any lines, and was smooth like progressive should be.

Can any one tell me if there is a special procedure for working with 25P in Xpress HD.

Probably have to de-interlace, not to expereinced with 25P/50I but I believe that the 100b records at 50I regardless of frame rate, so you have to de-interlace the 50I material to 25P..... should turn out nicely since it combines two frames from 50I to make 25P. Unlike 60I to 24P, which is only disvisible by 2.5 instead of a whole number. (Why couldn't it have been 48I...... or 72I.)

25p is carried in a 50i signal, however the two fields are recorded progressively so you definitely do not need to de-interlace. You said that you shot 25p mainly, perhaps the footage you imported into AVID was the non-25p stuff (if there was any). Regardless of your project settings (progressive or interlaced), if it was shot in 25p, it should look fine. I don't have very much experience with AVID, but check your project settings; you shouldn't need to de-interlace.
