25P ...NO GOOD?

Re: 25P users...any comments?

That report gives some info about how intense interlace flickering is. The conslusion of the report might lead to the impression that interlaced and full (progressive) frames look pretty much the same.

Well, I'm not sure if the author really wanted to stress that. I don't think so, because there definitely IS a significant difference, most noticable when filming moving objects or moving the camera (I do not want do recount in detail).

The difference is ONE part (of few) that make a video look more like film. There is absolutely no doubt and it doesn't matter if you're thinking about PAL or NTSC.

Re: 25P ...NO GOOD?

I dont know technically how relevant the analysis is. May be Barry can shed some light.

I have changed the topic of this thread. any comments from 24P users are welcome too. :D

Re: 25P ...NO GOOD?

ok.. i'm not the number one in the cold technical stuff.. but from what i understand by reading this article is not that "25P is not good", but that it's not such a revolutionary development in PAL land, while it is, very much, in NTSC.
besides that, i wish people would just use their eyes and decide from what the monitor say. my monitor say "25P good... 25P awesome!!!" ;)
