25p looks jagged

When I bought my dvx100 100, I did it because everyone was so impressed with its 24p or as on my pal model 25p. Till so far I have never had a satisfying experience with it though. I used sene 5 selection to shoot 25p and captured it with the 24p import with adobe premiere pro 2. when I burn it to disk i use 25p pall. The movie looks very jerky or jagged as they call it. Now by reading through all the threads I have noticed that more people have this and that it excepted as normal. We all talk about this filmic look but to me it is just not as watching film at all. What am I doing wrong here. They all talk about pulldown, but isn't this something that adobe premiere does by it self? I would like to hear some comments on this as for now I can't be as exited about 14 or 25p at all even not with slow panning movements.

I don't know if it's very clever to import with 24fps. And you need no pulldown for 25p.

Yeah. Your process isn't ideal. Don't try to capture 25p as 24p.

25p and 24p are very close; many can't tell a difference. Just stay in 25p and PAL.

I have a PAL version of the DVX as well and I've not had any problems with 25P at all (except perhaps grain issues but that's probably to do with my settings and lighting). Just capture and edit along a 25p timeline and forget about 24p unless you're going onto film.

Thanks all for your response
I have been able to borow the dvx book.
It opened verry strong and answered my question in many ways. Good book!
I only can't buy it here (New Zealand) but have to order it over the net.

I understand that I should not use the 24p import option but the 25p pal option. I also noow now that you have to pan verry slowly (90 dergees in 15 seconds)

I supose that I was just one of these poeple that has to get used to the so different look that 25p gives you oposed to interlaced 50i.
I will try some shots again this weekend and see if the result is better.

Thanks tony

Hmm. . . it seems the answer was obvously under our nose all this time.

A rule of thumb: when shooting in cine modes (25p or 24p) all camera hadndling must be like film. Big heavy cameras moves slowly so we simulate that to get the same effect.
