25P and 50i footage

Hi everyone,

If I want to use my dvx 25P squeeze mode footage together with 50i 4:3 footage (shot with another camera, lower resolution) in post/edit on a 25P timeline (premiere 6.5), is that possible? Or is it better to take screenshots with the dvx from the 50i footage? Hope this makes sense. What I want to show are some video images a character in the movie has shot (using a consumer camera).

i just did exactly the same thing on my last short. the only difference is that the project settings were the default PAL, which means 50i. this doesnt make any difference since the 25p is simply couples of identical fields (well, taken from identical full frames) on 50i.
but if you keep the project settings at 25p the interlaced footage may get deinterlaced to fit the project settings. and you probably don't want that since you want the video look for those clips.

by the way, i could get very nice looking cheap TV video look with a Vegas filter (TV).

don't know if there's such a filter in prem. 6.5 but i'll have a look. hear good things about Vegas, maybe in the future i'll try it.
