256 or 277 Minutes?

I just purchased a 64 gig P2 E series card. Everything that I have seen online says that if I'm shooting 480i that I'll have 256 minutes. I just inserted the card into my HVX200a and I'm seeing 277 minutes. It doesn't matter if it is 30p, 60i, 24p, etc...strange because everywhere online mentions 256 minutes. Is there something I'm missing? Thank you!

People quote generalities, but the reality is that sometimes you get a little bit more. There are assorted other things that will get recorded (such as the icon, text memos, metadata files, etc) that may have a minimal impact on your recording times, but in general you get a little bit more than a minute per gigabyte in the full raster modes, and a little more than 4 minutes per gig in standard-def.

Thanks Barry. I'm actually hoping the 277 is accurate, I'm shooting a long training session in a week and it'd be great if I was able to fit everything on (2) 64 gig P2 cards.
