25 Hours Community Service and Make a Film

My little brother and his friends decided it would be a good idea to steal some funny looking prints from a digital photo store. After getting out of the store, into their car, and a mile down the road, a cop pulled them over and arrested them. They were charged with Grand Larceny. The judge found out that my brother was a theater student and let him off with "25 hours of community service and make a film about the incident." This weekend my brother came down to beantown and this is what we came up with. Hopefully the judge will see the remorse and the humor and keep my brother out of jail!

I apologize for the file size. I was hoping it would be smaller but when it wasn't, i didn't feel like sitting through another two hour render. (Magic Bullet hurts so good!)

I gotta say.. that was pretty damn good work.. wow..

just shows want a little incentive can do...

why oh why would your bro be that stupid>? What a chance to take by doing that...

great music and good acting, and camera work. top notch.

It is also obvious you have talent. Great stuff man, despite the way the production came about.

"%20" is the space replacement character, so for the original poster, if you put that in there instead of the space, it will be clickabel. :)

I just copied pasted the link adress into media player and it's loading....

Edit: that's good, even your Locale's looked great, I'm sure he'll be more than happy with that, luck your brother has you.... loved the spit dripping from his mouth

Hey that was great. The film was really well done, nice cinemetography. What an awesome punishment.

wow great stuff looked just like film! Tell us from start to finish, what camera settings, anamorphic is responsible for 16:9 no? What was your NLE, any color correction? My stuff always comes out commercially looking, yours looks like genuine film. Whats the secret? I MUST KNOW!

Great movie! I was in a similar situation a couple years ago when I got detained for skateboarding at Stanford University. My probation officer saw that I was a good kid and saw that I had a strong interest in filmmaking so my punishment was quite similar. This reminds me that I still need to get my record expunged... :/

i doubt it was anamorphic, as the output is letterboxed and not anamorphic. there wouldnt be much point shooting with an anamorphic adapter if you then output a 4:3 image with letterboxes

or maybe there is, i don't know that much

oh man, i enjoyed that. I even downloaded it closed the browers then came back to post. Maybe its the great story behind why it was made, or just how silly it was but it made me laught. thanks.

thanks for all the nice comments guys. i'll let you know what the judge says as soon as i find out.

avatuar- the camera was just set to F5, nothing special. I edited in Vegas and the only color correction was Magic Bullet's "basic". And I went a little foley crazy. I stuck a sound effect in wherever i could.

Great little movie! Worth the download. I though the middle section with the guy sweepeing the town was a bit long, but other than that, all thumbs up! Even those on my webbed feet!
