24pn vs 30pn

hi, i usually shoot 24pn but today i tried shooting 30pn but when i looked at the footage it looked like it was being played faster than what actually happened. what could i be doing wrong?

thanks.

It sounds like you're using variable frame rates without realizing it.

In the Recording Setup menu, you pick 30pN.

Then, in your Scene File, make sure the "Frame Rate" is "Default." If it's "24 Frame" (or anything less than 30), then it it will play back more quickly than you expect.

David:

I did the same thing Tom did, and forgot to set the scene file.

But shouldn't we get a slo-mo effect? This assumes we are shooting at 30pn and playing back at 24 (pn?).

Thanks

Argh. I checked scenefile options as soon as I read this. Is variable frame rate yet another feature I won't find on mini-dv? Otherwise my eyes are failing me. Thanks for your patience.
