24pn TRUE 24 frames or NOT?

hey all,

yesterday i was a little embarrassed on set when in a discussion about 24PN, and 'how it's not true 24 frames.' all the "experts"(experienced guys) on set were laughing at the rookie(me), saying how it's not 24 true frames. They said all i had to do is look at the browser in the vid Rates section in FCP when i import my media....sure enough it said 23.98 even though we shot at 24PN.

i though N meant Native...meaning, true 24 frames per second, why is it 23.98

why this misinformation? and why all the hype about 24-frames?????

It's the truest 24 frames that gets recorded by any camcorder on the market. It's 23.976 frames per second, and only those frames, and those frames are recorded progressively. Everyone laughing at the rookie was wrong. :thumbsup:
