Hey Gang,
It's my first post here, and I'm sure this has been covered - though I can't seem to hit on the right search terms find a discussion of it. Please post a link if you know where the answer is...
I shot some material at 24pn at 60fps (overcranked/slo-mo). The footage in FCP on a 720p24 timeline looks incredible (naturally). When I take the clip and drop it onto a timeline setup with FCP's 8Bit Uncompressed preset (29.97 SD - to output to BetaSP) and render it, it adds a pulldown and the motion looks a little sticky. Since what I was shooting was a close-up of a waterfall the stickiness is more pronounced in the fluid motion of the water.
I understand that a pulldown has to be added to work out the math between 24 and 29.97, but is there a way to make the motion look more fluid - or is it just the nature of the beast?
Thanks,
TimR><>
