24pn issue with 170 and a fs-100

For some reason I am having a issue when trying to record to a Fs-100 when i set the hpx-170 to 720 24pn. in the 170's menu the 1349 control option is blued out. i can't turn it on. I know a few months back i recorded a bunch of stuff in pn mode. am i a idiot?

the FS is set to dvcprohd Quicktime pn.

If i switch the record format to 24p or 30 the option is no longer blued out and i can record no problem.

is there something i'm doing wrong?
 
You have to set your camera to 24p NOT 24pn. The firestore needs to be set to record the pn mode not the camera.
 
ok so when the camera is set to 24p and the drive set to pn, the clips will record 24pn? i just want to be clear. thanks
