24PA with Avid Xpress DV

I was under the impression that the Avid Xpress DV 4.6 does not work with footage shot in setting "F5" 24P advance progressive mode. I did some test shots and found that I was able to capture the footage and edit in the time line. Tell me, are they talking about exporting out to DVD or what?

You captured the footage in a 30i timeline, which is a perfectly acceptable way of working. Xpress Pro can remove the pulldown that the DVX inserts and give you 24 actual frames per second. I.E. you're still using interlaced footage.
