24PA regardless??

This may be common sense, but I just want to make sure.

If I record something in 24pa, say a minute long, and then in my NLE cut about half a second of that minute that was recorded, that is still considered a half a second of 24PA correct?

I am wondering if I cut the footage in certain areas in the NLE, does that possibly change the way that that particular footage is played back??

Any NLE will automatically remove pulldown on a selected 24p timeline.

Not true. Some NLEs (like FCP) require that you remove the pulldown before you get to a 24p timeline. It's not automatic.

Yeah, and then there's Liquid, which doesn't deal with pulldown at all, right? I may be totally off on this one, but doesn't Liquid support 24p timelines but only if the footage is stored as a 24p file (i.e. no pulldown removal supported by Liquid)?

Yes I learned this the hard way this week.... Im used to premiere pro

Liquid has a 24p timeline, but it has no truck with pulldown in any way, shape, or form. It doesn't remove it, it doesn't insert it, and if you edit a 24p file on a 24p timeline, it can't preview it.

If you wanna edit 24p, Liquid ain't your bag, baby.
