1. Aight so i made a blunder in shooting in 24pa when i was supposed to be in 24p standard. Reason being is that there is supposed to be mixed footage of 60i in this doc. How would this look mixed with the 60i on a 60i timeline. I cant test it out right now...just thought i'd ask. I gonna hand off this footage to an editor but i didnt want him to run into issues. He edits with Premiere cs4

2. also i have aanother project to edit thats fully 60i and the client saw some footage i have (that i shot independently of that project on my own) and wants me to use some of it. this is to go on a dvd and back to tape for a promo. I edit with Premiere cs4

So its essentially the same question as above.

Well you've got some options.

A) Just capture your footage at 29.97 without taking the extra frames out, and edit as normal. There will be a little jarring in the footage that will be unnoticeable to most, eventhough we would see it.

B) Capture at 24pa, then print to tape with proper pulldown and recapture. This is kinda tedious but effective in the end.

C) Use a program like After Effects to export your 24pa footage to 24p with proper pulldown. Also very tedious.

D) Use this plugin.

Capture at 24pa and when you place the 24pa footage in the 60i timeline you add the Film Converter. It will add the proper pulldown to your footage and makes it work in 60i properly.

Personally, I would get the plugins and use that. I consider it a standard in any editors arsenal, as well as the G-Filters plugins. While most of the work I do is HD and 24p, anytime I still need to do some DV work, I always add chroma smoothening and a beauty filter to everything. It just makes DV look so much better.

CS4? Easiest thing might be to edit the 24pA in a 24p sequence and then nest that sequence in the NTSC sequence. Of course, that won't work so well if you have to mix it up a lot.

But because CS4 does automatic timeline pulldown removal instead of pulldown removal at capture, there might not be a problem at all, even if it's all in the same NTSC sequence.

thanks for the suggestion fellas...I have some time tomorrow so i will check out the mentioned options.
