If I have my DVX 100A set in 24PA and I hook up an external component, (tape deck) thru the fire wire connection or the analog connections will it record that video at 24PA even if the source material is 29.97?
Nope. The 24P conversion takes place at the CCD level, so only something recorded through the lens can be recorded at 24P. Anything you hook through the firewire or analog connections will be cloned, so if it's 29.97 at the source, the DVX will record it as 29.97...
