Hi there,

i'm trying to transfer a short film to an exhibition format (digibeta or hdcam) for a film festival. i shot on a panasonic dvx100a in 24p adv mode, dv ntsc. i edited in fcp, and believe my settings are correct (23.98fps w/2:3:3:2 advanced pulldown). However, when i brought my project to be transferred, they encountered problems transferring to a digibeta and also failed w/an hdcam.

does anyone know the best way to export my fcp file (i'd like to export an uncompressed quicktime, but not sure what the exact settings should be), and if this will work when i bring it to another lab?

thanks for your help! my film is showing soon, and i'm nervous i wont have a print!

24pA (2:3:3:2 pulldown) is for shooting and capture ONLY. When you go back to tape for broadcast or transfer, you need to insert NORMAL PULLDOWN (2:3:2:3). Usually, you can provide the transfer house with either a miniDV with NORMAL PULLDOWN, or a pure 24p uncompressed MOV/AVI on a hard drive, and they will add the pulldown going to tape.
