24pa capture question

I was thinking of capturing 24pa footage that I shot with HVX, with my less expensive and older minidv camcorder so I don't tire the heads on the new cam.

Does it make any difference how you capture it? Or must 24pa footage be captured only from the HVX, and must it only be captured from a 24pa project?
 
I'm assuming you mean your DVX, not HVX. You can capture with any mini dv camcorder. I use a cheap panasonic camera, I think I bought it for 50 bucks off EBAY. It works like a charm.

As far as capturing, every NLE is different. But with most you can capture in any project, and the file will be 29.97. Then when imported into a 24p project, your program will remove the pulldown and give you 23.97.
 
Hmm...thanks for answering.

The program in question will most likely be PPro 2.0, however, I've incorporated a 24pa clip into a 23.978pa timeline, and I don't see any evidence of there being a removal of pulldown....which made me beg the question.

Yea it's an HVX...i figured the question would be more applicable to the dvx enthusiast
