Hey people, I'm sure this has been discussed, but what are the advantages and image differences between 24p vs. 24p adv? And, because the 24pa is converted to 60i, why are slo-mos so crappy?
 
slow motion is inherintly crappy with 24FPS no matter how you cut it. This is because there are less frames, and therefore to stretch the time, the computer is forced to fill in the gaps. Visually, the differences between regular and advanced 24p are minimal, and won't even be noticed. The differences come into play in post production, and how those pulldowns work with your NLE and interact with other footage, which you can read about in the link that penfever provided....good link BTW!
