24P travels through firewire live?

Maybe this is a stupid question...but no question is stupid unless it's mine right?
I was thinking of hooking up my DVX100A to a DV deck and recording on the deck with larger DV tapes (184min). I am still recording 24P becuase it is a cam thingy right?

by the way...I got your book the other day with DVD...it was excellent..I read it from top to bottom in 3 days. It is only the 3rd book I've read in my life.
