24p or 23.976p from D90?

In FCP, I keep my project settings at 24p for D90 .avi files. Is this correct?

I think if you use 23.976 it will slow your footage down a fraction....so 24p sounds right. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong)

I saw that because I shot something (D90), put it on a time line with sound that was from an external device. By the end of the 3min40sec clip, it was out of sync. I hope this helps.

Thats what i use in vegas, but then again i havent synced any external sound yet.

Footage from the D90 is a true 24 frames per second, not 23.976.

if you stick the D90's 24fps footage in a 23.98 timeline, it will not slow down footage, it will skip frames. I use compressor to retime all D90 footage to 23.98 while converting to prores.

thanks again, can you just have your audio source set to 24 fps? (i plan on getting a zoom h4n eventually)

I edit in sony vegas, so unfortunately i cant use your plugin (and that makes me sad)
