24p/interlaced

After reading countless threads and 24p.com on shooting/capturing 24P. I did a few test shots in normal 24p and Adv using DVX100a and Xpress Pro HD 5.2.2 (no Mojo). Each result is the same exporting from Avid - interlaced motion lines (I know there's a term for this, but it's late.) I've tried timeline formats 30i and 23.98, normal/adv pulldown, progressive, etc.

I would like to take advantage of the DVX100a 24p film-like feature using Avid Xpress Pro HD 5.2.2 (no mojo). I'm just not getting the results I want.

the same thing is happening to me,
when i export from my 23.976fps timeline to a quicktime refrence so i can encode it for a dvd in CCE, the quicktime refrence has interlacing throughout it which then transfers over into the mpeg i am encoding for my dvd. what are the correct steps or settings to get a progressive output to a quicktime refrence?
thanks!

Read up on 2:3 pulldown. The 24P sequence is recorded within a 60i "wrapper". You have to remove the pulldown to get access to the true 24P sequence.

Capture into 30i format timeline

Capture in a 23.976 project with Advanced Pulldown selected in the Film and 24p settings.

By capturing in a 30i project, you're keeping the footage with wrapper that Barry was talking about.
