24p, Film Look and Shutter Speeds?

Got a couple of questions, after playing for a few days with my camera I am wondering about a few issues. My sole purpose as probably most of you was to get a somewhat affordable digital video camera that will give me a native "Film Look" and this is the camera to do it! Forget post work right now, what settings should I shoot with to give me what I want. I know that everyone opinions can vary but I am looking for a starting point and then progress from there. Should I just set it for 24p and fire away not changings shutter speeds?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Re: 24p, Film Look and Shutter Speeds?

If you want you can set shutter on 1/48 but shutter off is technically the same thing (1/50) Learn how to control exposure manually, that will be one of the biggest factors in getting a great picture.

Good starting points are the F5 and F6 scene files. Experiment with the various settings -- if you don't save, it will reset to defaults when you turn the camera off, so you don't have to worry about messing anything up.

Re: 24p, Film Look and Shutter Speeds?

If you do a search back you will find quite a few threads relating to the effect that changing your shutter speed has on the look of the image. If you can't find them and are still curious sing out and we'll run through them again. Well acctually I'll leave it for someone a bit more knowledgable than me ;D
