24p capturing...

Hi Everyone,

Is there any trick in a process of 24p capturing from dvx100?
What software you guys usually using for that?
Do you prefer an automatic splitting whole video by scene detecting feature, or something else?
How to check the captured file if it was shot in the 24p mode? What sort of tools can prove it(V.Dub, Ghost, anything_else)?

Thanks in advance,
Alex.

I use Vegas, so all the guess work is taken out of things. Just open a 24p timeline and drop your captured clips in and Vegas does the rest.

I'm assuming you want to edit in native 24p here . . .

WIth just about anything but Vegas, yes. You have to jump through hoops with other NLEs, and not all of them will capture useable 24p from both modes (normal or advanced).

Vegas. As Horse says, it handles 24p better than anything else.

No reason not to use auto scene detection, unless you're manually logging all of your clips for a batch capture. That's really not necessary in these days of large hard drive capacity.

The clip properties should tell you. But you'll SEE the difference, anyway. After some experience with the DVX and capturing, you won't even think of checking for this kind of thing.

Ok, thank you. Are you capturing by Vegas as well?
Any additional applications like V.Dub or similar can show the 24p in that file?
