24p capture

Ok... I know this has been hammered to death, but just so that I'm clear here.

I will be working on Avid XpressPro.

I want to have the "look and feel" of 24p.
I will be outputting this project to tape for normal television broadcast (29.97).
A large portion of this footage may end up in slo-mo.

So my questions are: general camera settings:

24p for interviews and 30p for slo-mo?
Or can 24p deliver good slo-mo?
Shutter speed set to 1/60 for
best results?

For Post:

Does the 100A automatically downconvert the 24p or 30p footage to 29.97 while I digitize? Or do I use something like DV Film Maker to downconvert the footage first and then import it into my project?

I really appreciate any help on this. Seeing as this seems to be a fairly recurring kind of question, would I be out of line to suggest the creation of a "most frequently asked questions" page? That way you wouldn't have to answer this stuff everytime a newbie like me shows up?

Thanks again for your help,

Tim

Re: 24p capture

Thanks for the suggestion. Yah... I had already looked at that article. I was hoping there might be another suggestion floating around out there somewhere. I just really hate After Effects.

Thanks though! :)
