24p capture problems

I am currently shooting a short in 24p and when i capture video from my dvx100B, everything that is in motion has horizontal lines running through it. In FCP i set the sequence preset at "DV NTSC 48 KHz - 24" and capture preset "DV NTSC 48 kHz". I am using a home video camera to capture the footage onto my computer since ive heard that using your good camera is not a good thing to do. Any help would be appreciated.

Can you post a screenshot- there's a few things that could be. Shift Apple 3 and then attach it to your post.

I only see the lines when im scrolling though a sequence, but when i an looking through the viewer it is solid.

and its find in the viewer? sounds like a fcp setting u gutta switch on, to get the non interlace

try gnoig to effect, video, de-interlace

that will fix the lnies :)

after i rendered it, i de-interlaced it and it looks good. I went through easy setup and selected the ntsc 24p option

did u just drop the footage in to the timeline? no effects? because if you did that, you houldn't need to render it

thats strange, this is my first time shooting 24p. I just got this camera and ive never edited on a different timeline before so this is all kind of comming at me at once.

you see ur sequence tab? right click it and look at the frame rate opetion, are u in 29.97? you should be

try shooting 24pa (scene file 6)

and your sequence setting should be 23.98, capture using 2:33:2 pulldown

you wont get interlace, but itsa different setting

my frames were actually set to 23.98. We are shooting a bulk of the footage tomorrow so ill switch it over to 24PA and use the options you said

Also, one other thing. Its a bit off topic but when i export the footage using the quicktime movie option, the outcome looks blocky and low quality. Im not sure what the problem is and im hesitant to mess around with the more advanced option in FCP for fear ill perminatly jack something.
