24P and smooth movements (again) :)

Hi again,

Watching many TV series, looks like they are using 35mm, maybe top HD cameras, but in many series the movements are so smooth (near 60i but different, more film), any idea if they are using 30P or slower shutter speeds or... what is the trick ?
DVX100 24P is like 35mm 24P in stutters / movements, but these series have something to be used in TV smoothly, but not 60i (I think)

Thanks for any input,

Ulisses

It could be due to an interlaced display. The interlacing and subsequent pull down gives it a more fluid "flow" than straight 24p.

Reservoir, 60P could be... I never worked in 60P.

Shaw, all tests I did was 24P with pulldown, watching in an interlaced monitor. I think 24P playing at 29.97 looks better than 30P, progressive frames in an interlaced monitor always show jagged lines
These TV series have smooth edges and motion in interlaced TV, just a subtle stutter in motions, very reduced compared to standard 24P with pull down.

Thanks,
Ulisses
