the dvx100b has 24p and 24pa, but thats on the NTSC version. on the PAL version however, its just 25p. I would really like to know wads the main differences between 24p and 25p or would both be somewhat film-like? I just got a PAL version of the dvx100b.

Also, adobe premiere has specific settings to edit 24p. I am wondering how would i be editing 25p?

24p and 25p are nearly identical.

Is there a Panasonic PAL preset? If not, you can use the normal PAL presets, but set the field order to "Progressive (No Fields)" when creating the project, for best results.

hey thanks for the reply. i cant reli choose progressive. its either lower field or upper field which means PAL in premiere is default at interlaced. or rather, fixed at interlaced. is it fine if i just edit in interlaced?

Or would it be appropriate if i did it in DESKTOP for editing mode instead of DV PAL. Wad would the differences be? Sorry. New to this =)

Stick with DV mode. Interlaced is fine. Are you sure you can't set it to No Fields as you are creating the project? I know you may not be able to change it on an already existing project. In any case, you should be able to export as No Fields. Never used the PAL presets cause I'm in NTSC-land.

yea. im veri sure. when i choose DV PAL thers only interlaced options. no progressive. unless i choose DESKTOP or 24P (but im doing 25p), there will be then progressive.

And again in 24P it insists on NTSC :S
What is desktop anyway??
