24P advanced cut on PPro7.0

If I shoot with the F6 default (24P advanced) and cut it on PPRO 7.0 (non-native 24p system) in squeeze mode will the advanced pull down stop me from using this workflow and what will the advantages be over the F5 default with the thick changed to thin? Thanks.

Re: 24P advanced cut on PPro7.0

If you're cutting at 29.97 then you might as well shoot 24p (Scene F5), not 24pa.
Thin is good for film (finer detail), bad for standard video (potetial flicker on interlaced systems)

Re: 24P advanced cut on PPro7.0

Thanks Scott. I read where it's better to shoot thin when using the squeeze mode because the squeeze thickens it enough to not having to worry about the thin line aliasing on an NTSC monitor. It also increases resolution. My question is, if I'm cutting in 29.97 and using the default F5 in squeeze do I switch it to thin from thick to utilize the extra resolution?

Re: 24P advanced cut on PPro7.0

I'd be interested in finding out what settings people are using with the squeeze mode - F5 default, F5 with the thin setting, or F6 default, etc. If PPro would get their act together and fix 1.5's 24P bug I'd just shoot F6 -- but until then can anyone help me out with their experiences? Thanks.
