24P Advance on Avid Xpress DV v3.5.4

Does anyone know if footage recorded in 24P Advance can be imported in Avid Xpress DV? I understand that the 24 frames cannot be extracted but will the footage look ok when played on the timeline in this version of Avid? If not, what is the easiest, most practical way to transfer the footage to 24P Normal from MiniDV tape?

Yup, I'm aware of that, thanks. But . . . . .

The situation being is that the footage was already shot 24PA and the editor uses Avid Xpress DV v3.5.4.

Any ideas?

The upgrade from Xpress DV to Xpress Pro is a steal. Any chance the editor could take that route?

I'm not sure he is willing to do that or not right now.

Let's assume, for the moment, that he isn't. What will happen with 24PA on a 30i project/timeline?

Nothing happens, it is jst a differnt look when it comes to motion. Some peopke see it, some see it the same as normal.
 
Ok, that's what I suspected. I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't look totally f'd up. :)
