So I am thinking of taking a shot at making a feature film with some crazy stunt guy mates of mine and using the trusty AF100 for the job. Its all up in the air so weather any thing actually happens is any ones guess but hopefully it does.

My question is should I shoot this proposed feature film in 24 or 25 fps?

I live in Australia and here our TV standard is 25 fps. Ive never really thought about this before so not totally sure of the implications of ether format. It not as if we have any specific plans for the film so online distribution or TV, any thing really would be great.

Has any one else in PAL regions made a feature and chosen to go 24fps??

Any info or ideas as to which and why I am keen to hear

I shot my doc last year on a GH2 and opted for 24fps purely because I hope to enter it into a few US competitions as well as UK ones. Am currently editing. Any questions fire away...

Shoot 25fps.

Your feature is likely to be screened from DVD anyway.. and it also makes it easy for TV broadcast purposes.

25fps - less issues with light flicker/TVs in shot etc as you're on the same power cycle. Easier to screen DVD and if you end up doing a film transfer the 4% slow down to 24fps is easy.

Thanks for the advice guys. Looks like 25 is the better option. I knew there were issues to keep in mind with the different formats and people have talked about it on these boards before, I have always just glossed over it as it has never concerned me before now.

The point about Lights is a good one, as is the fact that it will probably be screened from dvd anyway, if not web delivery and if any tv broadcast happens it likely to be here in auz.

Thanks again guys :)
