FS7: 240 FPS With O7Q+

How were you able to keep your noise so clean? Last the I tried it was unusable due to its high noise in the shadows.

Everything is overexposed by a stop or more, depending on the scene and how much help it needs. It's still noisy in the shadows if you look for it, but it is a definite improvement on when I last tried it out.

Nice job!
Did you shoot EI1000 or EI500?

Used the waveform and zebras for exposure. I was overexposing by one to two stops, so rating the camera ISO1000-ISO500. Obviously, using EI wouldn't have any impact as viewfinder LUTs don't work with HFR.

12 Bit RAW from FS7? I thought that was supposed to be no good. Have I got something wrong. I do own a 7Q+

I didn't test HFR on the last firmware release but the ones before were good in 4K but rubbish at 2K HFR. This latest release is still noisy in the shadows, very noisy, but if you overexpose a stop or two you can get useable results.

I don't understand this question. Isn't RAW out of FS7 linear ?

There's some skullduggery going on. You set the colour space on the camera with the usual choices of gamut and slog, use that for monitoring in the VF or via SDI/HDMI, but you take the RAW feed out of the XDCA and into the O7Q+ which you can either record as RAW on two SSDs with huge files or to one SSD as a nice ProRes file where it records with the same colour space you set on the camera.

Got it. So not RAW out recorded as RAW but with SLOG 3 gamma applied and recorded as Prores.
