24 p in final cut

ok so im in 24p, and i get interlaced footage,i understand why. In the settings, i read in hte fcp forum, tht u guta change the FPS setting in FCP to 29.97...but on another site i read 23.98 (or w.e the last 2 digits are) wut one do i pick?

you pick the one that uses better grammar, and if you understand why, then why are you asking us, anyways you want to use 29.97 fps in capture mode if you shoot with 24pA for regular 24p I believe you capture at 23.98

umm.. i don't own a DVX... but i'm pretty sure that's backwards.

24pA is captured at 23.xx. And it should be on a 23.xx timeline.

Regular 24p is captured to a regular 60i timeline (aka 30p).

but thats the extent of what i think i know.

yea im pretty sure nocoast is backwards... but thats just what ive been reading. anyway, where do you even change the capture settings? what all are you supose to change when using 24pA? i must be doing it wrong cause im still getting some interlaced footage, even after clicking deinterlace when exporting
