24"Dell and Decklink

Hey guys,

I was set on purchasing another Apple HD Cinema Display for my Decklink/HDLink combination. But what are your opinions on using the 24"Dell instead? Better or no?

Initially I was skeptical about the Dell 2405, due to Mike's (HDforIndies.com) trouble with it. But he has a replacement now, and there's a bunch of good reviews from macintouch.

I'm now thinking of getting two, one for post and one for production.

they are great - GREAT! Not going to have the same color as say a $23000 sony monitor but heck you are using the HVX - and the Dell has 1080p. And from what I see while I type this, the color is great. Initially, I had to pull down the gama to bring out the color BTW.

I am extremly happy with my 24"... absolutely no problems, and is way more feature rich than the apple displays. its the only one you can use as a HD monitor directly from camera.

Thanks guys for the info ...

The Decklink site seems to recommend the Apple HD Cinema Display for its Decklink/HDLink combination for post production, but I suppose using the Dell will be just fine as well.

Plus Jarred irs right, I can use it in the field as a monitor ...

Note to self: get the 24" Dell monitor

Well, the HD-SDI card allow you to connect directly to the Dell 24" monitor as an external HD monitor instead of going through the camera?
