Proud owner of the new 24-70 mk2 lens. Can anyone tell me if this lens, or in fact all L glass, is TOTALLY dust and moisture resistant?
ie do you need to take any precautions when taking it from extremely cold to room or warmer temperatures to prevent condensation inside the lens?

Or traveling thru extremely dusty, desert like or extremely humid tropical environments?

It's weather sealed, but TOTALLY is too strong a word for me to be able to comment on this: not enough experience.
I would ask this on a forum with more users, such as canonrumors (this is not a video-centric issue, stills shooters will be able to help).

I've been shooting with L lenses for nearly 20 years, and though they are very weather resistant, they are not 100% water proof. They'll take a lot of abuse, but you can still mess them up by getting them too wet too often. It does take a lot to do it, and my 70-200 2.8 that I bought in 1995 and used for years shooting snowboarding finally developed a haze. Although this ended up just fine for me personally as CPS replaced it with a new one for basic repair cost, it shows that it is possible to wreck even the most weather sealed lenses. Unlike the 70-200, the 24-70 and 24-105 barrels extend when you zoom so they're a little less weather resistant. Get out there and get the shot, don't freak out if you get a little moisture on it, but don't think that it's TOTALLY waterproof like some kind of scuba diving camera.
