Eh up all.

Anyone using one of these on the FS7?

I'm chopping in various Canon L lenses and seriously considering one of these, as I also need something more responsive on my A7Rii. I've never experienced such quick AF as when I tried one yesterday in the shop.

IS work OK on the FS7? Any other observations welcome.

Cheers,

Ben.

The 24-70 G Master is designed for stills rather than video. I would say that it is par focalish, meaning that it is close but certainly not advertised as par focal. The FS7 itself isn't exactly an autofocus champion and from just one quick test with the 24-70 I didn't find any focusing difference between it and my 28-135. I've shot it on the A7R II both in still and video and find it an amazing piece of glass and I was pleased with its autofocus capabilities on the A7R II.

Thanks Ned. I'm trying to have my cake and eat it, I guess. While I won't use AF on the FS7, I do want a premium lens for stills. Are you saying you've experienced equal quality between the 24-70 and 28-135?

Also, to be super clear, just checking you're referring to the 2.8 version of the 24-70, not f4.
