Hey Ryan, updates sounding good!

I love this FF3D program. Very cool. It really seems to enlighted me to many aspects that may be problematic down the road. Just being able to visualize the scene with models. So neat.

Yeah- I know what you mean after building the set in FF3D I was able to see some problems that I would have incountered on the shoot, not I can work around them, and figure out other solutions- this is GREAT! I've got about 90% of the film storyboarded now- I love it, and highly recommend it. Thanks for turning me back to it.

Awesome stuff dude! I am looking into FF3D as well!

Definately check it out. I'm still using the free Demo version, and it is barely good enough for me (It fits my budget for now - I will be upgrading as soon as I get the extra cash for it- it will definately be worth it.)

Coolio! I love this program!!!

We'll get some grabs up as well!

(don't you think that we should get a referral bonus or something! :) )

Funny little side story, the very first time I used FF, I couldn't see ANY of the set and actors that I had placed/built. THEN I realized, I had the camera on the OUTSIDE of the wall! d'oh! Can't shoot like that!

Looks good, Ryan!

Hey Ryan, I bought the most recent Frame Forge 3d Studio and it is incredible. They made some good upgrades from the earlier version. Definitely get it.

Yep, this program is high on my list to buy. I think I'm going to try and work it into the budget of my next project if possible. Being able to use it to create an accurate set, and play with camera angles prior to filming has been great!

Yeah you should! Unfortunately I do not have any pull at FF3D, so I don't think you'll be getting anything from them. :) Here are a couple of beers   and if you or Mark are up in my neck of the woods I'll treat you to a real drink. :)

LOL! Same here- at first I felt frustrated as I couldn't see anything- then I just felt dumb as I clued in to where the camera was pointing - oops :) . So you are not alone in your experience.

HAHA! Well, I am glad that I am not the only one! :)

Hey, I do hope to get up to the Great NorthWest sometime.... I HAVE GOT to take my wife up there to see Oregon and visit some old stompling grounds! And I miss seeing those glorious mountains of the Cascades!

I'm slightly disturbed that you've shown the ending kill shot where I do the Kung-Fu punch through her rib cage ... I wonder what I'm staring at in my hand, just out of frame?

Norm? Is that YOU? Wow, man.... you need a different shade of lip gloss! But your blue shirt matches eyes beautifully!

LOL!!!!!

Yeah, one of the limitation of at least the version I am using is objects don't always "interact with each other". You have great control in manipulating everything (You can even adjust fingers) - but that means A LOT of work adjusting everything to get it to look right. By the time I got that frame done, I think I had spend about 30 - 45 minutes on just that frame- and I needed to move on to the next shots, so I just left that killer punch through the rib cage. :)

Also, the free demo that I am using will only let you use a white male and a black female. So I went in and tried to modify the skin color of the female, which is why she looks a little more "tan" then the male. (I had to pull a Michael Jackson on her. ) :)

What do you think he should go with- maybe a firetruck red color? ;)

heehee.... how about CFM red! That ALWAYS get's attention!

(do you know what CFM stands for? It was a term used a few years ago...)

As for manipulating the characters... isn't that amazing??? I was stunned to see how much you could posture them.

Funny that you got a black woman on your demo. I got a white woman! I guess that new I was from the ALL WHITE STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE! (and I don't mean that in a good way! Personally, I like diversity!)

Ted

Is explaining CFM something you can put in a public post?

One of the cool things about Rebecca, which this 3D model doesn't represent, is her near china-doll (white) skin. I dunno, something about it I just think is super cool ... probably cuz it's so rare.
