23.98p or 25p

I just wondered if anyone had any suggestions in terms of workflow here. I am shooting a festival short next month. I am in a PAL country, shooting digital and can shoot either 23.976p or 25p. I have to deliver the film in 23.976 quicktime uncompressed.

I have one scene where people are watching a bank of CRT televisions. Because of the 50hz power signals, I get strobing unless I shoot it in 25p. There is also the risk of getting some lighting flicker - though I'm not using any fluroescent lighting.

Would people think that it is easier to shoot in 25p and slow down and pitch shift in post to deliver in 23.98 or just shoot it in 23.98 and try to deal with the CRT television some other way.

One option might be to use an lcd television, another option (perhaps) would be to shoot the television scene in 25p and everything else in 23.98, then change the frame rate of the tv scene. Logistically it is a bit of a nightmare trying to get hold of the LCD televisions, also it goes against the film's aesthetic.

I've never had to deliver in anything other than 25p or 50i, so I'm not sure how difficult the process to change the frame rate is. Obviously I want to maintain the highest quality. I'm using Avid, but have access to After Effects.

If I go for the 25p option, I'll have to shoot it on a hacked GH1 - which isn't bad in itself but I did want to shoot it on the GH2, because of firstly the ability to monitor it live via hdmi for focus, and secondly because of it's low light improvements over the GH1.

Any suggestions?

I'm can't really help here, but doesn't setting the shutter to 50 solve any flashing, even in 24p? Might be worth a test, just in case.

If I were filming it though, I'd shoot the monitor scenes in 25p and slow them down in post, if the 50 shutter thing didn't work.
