Looks good to me and I'm going to order one and try it out. I bought from this seller before and that went fine.

Good luck!
I bought one 2 years ago and since it only takes up dust. It's terribly uncomfortable (to me, typical male 6ft tall, rather slim). I never got it adjusted properly, even by adding Manfrotto parts, and the quality is mediocre. I needed to saw off a piece of a screw to mount one of the stage extensions.

That looks completely impractical. It's so far away from your body that it will be bobbing a ton with every step. It looks very uncomfortable. And if you are using it just for stationary shots, you're better off with a monopod.

I'd save my money. You're better off building one out of PVC.

Ok I will not order it!

Ok I will not order it!

Thanks for the warnings guys, I will not buy this.

Normally I hand-hold my rig which consists of a GH1 or D7 with Marshall monitor and sometimes it gets a bit too heavy, especially the Marshall is heavy, so I was looking for some kind of support. I know ordered a DV rig junior which is like a short monopod which rests on a belt around the waste. This should still give me enough freedom for moving the camera around.

It's the cheap shoulder support that got recommended by philip bloom several times

not the best thing around, but it works (if you assemble it properly, not like in that photo)

Phillip Bloom has definitely a good reputation as a videographer but in case of this stabilizer, I doubt that his recommendation is unbiased.
Before he got so well known for his DSLR video work, he did several video promos for the UK based video equipment retailer CVP Mitcorp - obviously to sell stuff.
See here: CVP Mitcorp stabilizer
You will remark that they sell the same piece of ** for around $115. It was also because of this review that I bought the stabilizer, fortunately I did my research on the net and got it for about $40.
Well, you get what you pay for...

It's ok, but as clearly shown in the pic the between mount plate & support is VERY FRAGILE, the plastic is poor quality and i would not recommend using it even with just camera and lens like shown in pic. Remove the upper extended part completely so the camera goes closer to your body.

I've had varios modifications done to mine but my shoulder system is wrecked atm so no pic, but use some logic and you'll see what parts that needs to be reinforced.

Sells for 250 usd in sweden :)

Do not pay more than 50 bucks for this

If you're on an extreme budget and you're not moving a whole lot, it will work in stationary situations. Think of it as a wearable tripod minus the fluid head.

I got one of these the other day, just as a punt really. cost me £25 off a certain auction site.

Did a bit of tweaking within minutes and got the 5D plus a viewfinder sitting in the right place but also managed to get it to mount the Zoom H4N on the side too.

Not the most attractive piece of gear it has to be said but does add a bit of stability for simple shots.

Keeping movement to a minimum and it seems fine but couldn't imagine doing a walk around with it and expecting smooth results.

but for £25 can't really grumble and being so cheap I think a few more hacks might make it more appealing.

oh btw, first post so hi :)

Just got one for my EX1. It's okay for the price. One thing though -- don't breath while you use it. The bottom piece rests on your abdomen and if you breath it goes up and down with every breath. It's prefect if you want a subjective "breath cam" though -- a camera that reacts with every breath of the person whose pov it's supposed to be representing. Really, though, for the price, it's okay.

I got mine this weekend

it seems "good enough", which is a whole new world if you didn't have a shoulder support before, as was my case: I used a monopod, and I get steadier results now, as well as better mobility

but yes, you have to control your breathing...

I can imagine a $1K rig would work much better, but this thing definitely works, and it costs roughly $1K less than that

I use this thing,
Cullmann 3090 Travelpod
Our wedding videographer used a gorilla pod. If you just have a t2i and lightweight glass, don't need too much to get rid of micro-jitters.

The chest pad on mine sits squarely on the bottom of my ribcage, and if I breath from my diaphragm (proper way of breathing btw) the whole setup doesn't move at all.

I bought one off of Amazon. Used it for a few shoots, and I actually liked it. However, the upper connection already broke. As someone stated, cheap plastic. The 'lower' one is still good. It is true, you DO get what you pay for...

I shot an entire wedding on this and didnt have many problems. For the price I dont think you can go wrong...plus it can be strapped to yourself through out the day if needed. If it had some sort of quick release and tripod plate it would be even better.
