21 second film featuring my neighbor's dog.

I feel like it needed a little more closure. To me it felt like it ended unsuspectingly. Other than that...was cool

Cool stuff, gotta love dogs. As for more closure, I'm pretty sure this was done just as a test, so good job.

Nice look and feel. What did do in post to get that look?

Also, as was mentioned, you need something to give it closure. Maybe the guy walks back in (forgot something)... but the dog has nothing... "where did the steak go?"...

Find a funny ending and go with that.

Hey Thanks to all for your replies. I must say this is the best way to learn. DVXUSER RULES!!!! Anyway, what I should have said is that this is part of a series of 21-second movies that I started doing. It is a personal project of mine. I got my DVX about a year ago, but moving to Saint Louis with the new job has kept me too busy. So last month, I committed to making a new 21-second movie every week. Usually, I shoot and edit in the same night. I try to have one up every wednesday.

So, knowing that, the "closure" issue may not really be an issue.

Once again, Thanks to all for your replies!!!

That's a great way to perfect you skills. Looking forward to seeing more of your "homework". :)

Well, I've been doing it for the past 6 weeks. and I haven't slipped! I have 6 of them posted. Check em out here:

I've really been messing with the whole Film/Video/DVX thing for the past 3 months, and I've learned a lot thanks to the forum.

hey man, thats a really awesome idea, the site is kick ass too. are you a astros fan? also, i think of all the films the one thing that seemed to be lacking was sound design. the music is there and good, and there are some sound effects where needed, but i think if you added sfx to all the films they would be that much better. like in "soda" when the guy puts the cd in, theres no sound for the cd tray ejecting. like i said, little things like that will make your projects that much better.

these look great. What effects are you using in post? are you using any of the in camera color options? also, how did you get some of the DOF effects in the shorts with your DVX? As a college grad who is stuck in an unemployment rut, i might have to steal your idea just to hone my skills.

Like the clip and your selection of music... Now if that dog can grab a cold one out of the fridge... How would that be for closure?
