So it's not lowlight but the whole video was shot on the GH1 with the 20mm.... http://verticalcarnival.blogspot.com/2009/12/my-most-recent-foray-into-unknown.html I like the lens, but the auto focus is a little annoying...I made the right decision of buying the lens early on apparently, as it seems that it's at least a hundred dollars more expensive now!! For me light weight is really really important other wise if weight and kind of crappy autofocus isn't too important to you.... I would probably buy an old fd, nikon or something....
If i find some time ill do a comparison of the 20 vs stock lens in my room to show you the difference. Yeah auto focus is pretty bad i must admit and because its electronic, its harder to use as a manual lens to do rack focusing cause you have to turn it so much.
I prefer shooting at f2 cause at 1.4 its dof is too shallow for me. If i were to shoot this with a stock lens it would look terrible with banding everywhere. The first couple secs are shot with a zeiss 35mm f2.8 and the original footage was alot darker and was brought up in post. Shots with the faster 50 (almost everything after that is brighter) is pretty much what you see with a bit of CC in post.
Cedarwright: Awesome footage, regardless. How much did you pay for your lens back when you got it?
MR Fanny: Thanks for posting that. It gives me a good sense that I need something less than 50mm, though at the prices I'll probably pick up a canon or nikon and adapter to use as well.
