Hi all,

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone on DVXuser for the wonderful information, opinions, reviews and help over the years. This site has been instrumental in my career as a videographer and editor.

Below is my 2015 Cinematography Reel, which I plan on releasing on the interwebs Monday. Shot with the GH4 and GH2, except the 2 timelapses which are with a Canon T2i.

Would love to hear any feedback, constructive criticism, comments, or anything that comes to mind. I am still open to potentially making changes if they seem right to me. As for the native audio...I decided to cut it out since lots of the clips didn't have any, or it was corrupted. I may still do some sound design for certain moments...maybe something y'all can comment on/recommend.

Thanks again DVX people!

Hi. The first thing I noticed is that you have either sensor dust or dust on the element from around 16 secs through to 30 odd secs. It took me out of the video and took me about 30 secs to get back into it. Personally I think the opening of the music is wrong and perhaps the reel could start at about 15 secs when the skier goes off the jump. It would be a far more dynamic start. I think the reel is too long. The snow stuff feels repetitive. I'm saying this based on one cold viewing but isn't that what a client would be doing?
I did enjoy it more the second time through.
Take what I say on the shots themselves with a pinch of salt as i'm so new to this myself except nothing jarred for me with the exception of the camping timelapse and its transition up into the mountain shot. That felt weird and cut away too quickly.
I hope that helps.

All in all, nice work!!

I just recently edited a reel myself and I know it can be tough. But some good advice I got was that less is more. Only the best shots.

So in my opinion, the mountain shot is great, but the next two shots were not as grabbing. Some of the half pipe stuff is really good, and the shot with the tree in the foreground I though was also really nice. It just got stronger from there!

In any case, congrats and all the best in your work!
