Better late than never i guess? haha. I finally got around to making a collection of some stuff shot last year. Almost everything is filmed with the Lumix G6. Comments, constructive criticism is always welcome :)

That sucked.

And by "sucked" I mean "was gorgeous and awesome! With fantastic shots, angles, colors, and a killer edit!"

What part of the world do you live and work in fadedjosh? cuz I gotta tip one back with you mate!

I recognize many of those places, even shot at a few of them and I don't seem to be able to get those kind of images with either my
GH4 or G6 :)

Some pretty incredible color work in post too.

Congrats on one of the better demo reels I've ever seen.

Cheers,
Pete

Thanks!! I am in Salt Lake City, Utah. Not sure where you're located, but if you're ever in town let me know.

You're hired. What glass did you use?

Bam! :) And I used kit lens, Canon 28 1.8, Nikon 35 F2 AI, Vivitar 28-90 2.8-3.5 AI mount, Nikon 75-150 E series AI mount. Also used a cheap focal reducer that was purchased on eBay.

High five to Utah local's. The good majority of all of this was filmed in salt lake valley and surrounding areas. We have some really awesome scenery. Thank you as well for the kind words! I still would like to try out a GH4. I recently purchased an Lx100 and am stoked to mess around with it!

Yeah man - right down below you in Phoenix.
My best bud from high school is in Park City so I get up there from time to time. I hit you up for sure man!

Many great shots, but depending on what you are trying to do with your "Demo reel", I'd shorten and reedit it.
Some examples:
The last shots of the dancer in the lake are the strongest IMHO.
They need to come in the first third of your reel, clients rarely watch 3 Minutes these days (well all of us who love their little G6 will do of course...)
While spiders are cool, these shots seem too much "camera test in my backyard".
Parcour is fun to watch but some of the shots look more random than the rest of your reel.

You edit and grade really well, so maybe you want to present yourself as an "one-for-all" video maker, but even then I would probably split your reel in "narrative/artistic", "documentary" and "wildlife/stock footage".

Just my 2c, I really enjoyed watching it as a fellow operator, but as a client I would rather just see a homogeneous reel, depending on what I'm looking for...

Thanks for the feedback! I completely agree with all points. I really should have narrowed it down to a specific thing, I will for sure do that for the next one. Going to try and do 2-3 a year that are much shorter (1:30-2:00) and specific styles. That was my biggest problem, not certain of what type of client I even wanted so just through a cluster of everything in! haha.

Thanks again for the feedback and watching. :)
