2012 - Yeah baby.

If you have a large number of surplus people...

...you also have a large surplus food source.

If things were to get that far.

I'm just sayin'.

I never like when people hold their breath under water for so long. Some plot holes for sure but it was still good for what is was...a disaster movie

I have this weird habit...when watching a movie where someone has to hold their breath to dive, swim, etc - *I* hold my breath to see if it's possible to hold one's breath, for that long...

You must have passed out during Alien Resurrection...:grin:

I really don't want to be the guy to defend this stupid movie...

Oh ye almighty Mods, I pray to thee. Make Batutta's custom title something along the lines of:

"the guy who defended 2012."

I will bow to you for the rest of my days.

Amen.

I haven't seen this yet but I just enjoy watching the world fall apart.

Like Jurassic Park, the movie itself was average for me but the T Rex scenb makes it all worthwhile.

I do wish it didn't look so polished though; would rather see a more gritty look to something 2012.

Naw, done right the first time. Anyway, The Quiet Earth is all about aftermath and desolation, and Roland is all about lovingly rendering how we get to the aftermath and desolation...

I think George Pal's stuff would be more in the spirit, if Roland were to start doing remakes...

very true...regretted the post afterwards, because i always say people should remake BAD movies and make them better, often times it's the other way around...

The Quiet Earth is a fave of mine though...nicely paced.

Well guys, I took your advice and watched 'The Quiet Earth' and I thought it was great. Especially the breathtaking and symbolic ending.
It shows that the best films do NOT come from Hollywood!

very cool...yeah, it's a diamond in the rough for its time and place.

just came back from seeing it.... wow mixing digital and film = not a good Idea.... You could clearly tell when they changed cameras....sometimes it took me out of the film and made me try to guess when the change happened....

Anyway, I love disaster movies and I don't really mind about the screenplay...Gimme FX and I'm all set!
But If analized well this film has more than a ton of jidden meanings....(well not that hidden).
