Thank you Broncos and Broncos fans, you kept our division hopes alive. Much appreciated.

This weekend, I'm going to my first ever NFL game, very excited. The Pats are playing in Seattle for the first time in like 8 years and my brother, a friend and myself are heading down for the weekend. Going to be a blast. It's pretty sweet that it also coordinates with my 28th birthday (which is actually tomorrow, but close enough.) We got some awesome seats too.

I've driven through Seattle a few times, but never actually visisted, anyone have any ideas as to what I should check out?

GO PATS!!!

Glad the Broncos beat the Jets... great game too...

Jets? Pfft -no problemo!! It's the hard teams the donks have problems with like KC and Oakland. Let's hope they don't melt down Sunday and lose to KC at home -in which case I'll be burning all my donkey gear and moving to Easter island.

Woo-hoo! I have tickets to see the Giants/Panthers game on Sunday night: 10th row on the 25 yard line.

My brother and I will be some of the only Panthers fans in the Meadowlands, but it should be a blast. This game has all the trappings of an epic snow battle - both great running offenses, both great defenses, lots and lots of wintery precipitation, and home-field advantage is at stake!

That game should be EPIC. I still think the Giants are the best team in Football right now but the Panthers have nearly as good a shot...

As for the Broncos...*sigh*....I have been watching this team since I was 6 or 7 years old...faithfully...no lag time...no bogus "but my second favorite team is..."...I've got authentic jerseys, signed Elway stuff, autographed Terell Davis photos etc. etc. etc. So, I really know this team very well. What kills me is how they are calling the games this year.

For some reason Shanny has handed over the gamecalling to Jeremy Bates. Now I KNOW Shanahan LOOOOOVES to set up the pass with the run. But, as I have been saying all season long, we just aren't a running team this year. When you force it bad things happen. Why not just say "F it! light it up Jay...we'll take your good and the bad because we are only going to win games on your arm this year anyway!"?

It's just so maddening to have such a statistically lousy Defense but yet be losing game after game after game this season because of lousy playcalling and inconsistency on Offense. *sigh*

Have fun Will Clegg.

So the game in Seattle was a blast. We were down for most of it but pulled through in the end. What an expierence NFL football is. The Seattle fans were good sports, they were talking trash all day until the end of the game, so we sat outside the stadium and chirped them all when the game was over. Fun stuff.

How are the Chargers still mathmatically alive. C'mon Broncos, close it out already.

Things are very interesting in the AFC east. The two most likely ways the Pats can make the Playoffs is too one have the Jets lose this week and then have them beat Miami next week and the Pats win out and win the division. Two, the Ravens lose this week against the Cowboys and the Pats win out and we take a wild card. It's pretty sweet that Miami and NY play each other last game of the year, with huge playoff implications, someones got to lose and break the tie in the East. Just hoping the Pats win their two final games against Arizona and Buffalo.

If the Pats make the playoffs, I will be astounded by what this team has overcome, although not overly surprised, Belichick/Pioli build the team with lots of depth and this year has just been ridiculous. Following players are on IR, Tom Brady, Laurence Maroney, Adalius Thomas, Rodney Harrison, Pierre Woods, Terrence Wheatley. Bruschi is currently out which looks like he might be placed in IR. Pretty much our entire starting defence has been decimated with injuries, the defence looks nothing like the start of the season. The offense also has lost some key players, mainly our running backs (at one point we had our 5th stringer in) and TE's and also a guy named Tom Brady at the start of the season. We have 14 players on IR, the highest ever and also are pretty much at the top of the league in man games lost.

This team never stops surprising me. As much has people hate on Belichick because of his crusty way with the media, there is no disputing that he is the best coach in the NFL and arguably could go down as one of the best ever.

What is going on in Denver? C'mon guys, you've had weeks to close this out. Sorry to say this but the Chargers are going to kick your asses next week. No way you guys win that game. And as much as I loath the Chargers, they probably deserve to make it considering the game that they got robbed of earlier in the year, that being said I'll be rooting for the Broncos.

So the Seahawks did me a huge favor and beat the Jets yesterday, pretty much knocking them out, they'd need to beat Miami (which I'm hoping for) next week and have the Pats lose in Buffalo. With a Pats win they need either Miami to lose or Baltimore to lose against Jacksonville to make the playoffs.

Anyone watch the Ravens vs Cowboys game on Saturday? Did Dallas ever **** the bed. Two plays and 150+ yards, absolutely ridiculous.

Next week is going to be a very interesting week in the NFL.

Nothing like watching some holiday football.

I am still cold from last night's game in the Meadowlands.

Derrick Ward is good. Really good. That's all I have to say about that.

I would be shocked, SHOCKED if Denver beat the Chargers next week. I knew this was going to happen. A few weeks ago when Denver was being crowned the AFC West champs it made me nauseous. I knew we were a poorly coached team with no fire (defense and offensive play calling has been horrid ALL year) and that once we lost to the Panthers....we'd think "uh-oh". And that is precisely what has happened. We said "uh-oh" and lost to the hapless Bills at home. No way in heck are we going to beat the Chargers. I'd love for the Broncos to prove me wrong but I think it will be a blowout. 14-3 by the end of the first quarter. Our heads were just never in it this season. Though, not to make any excuses, but being down your your 7th string running back will do that to you...kill me...

UPDATE: I think Denver needs a new strength and conditioning coach. I have never seen anything like this ever. Andre Hall, Ryan Torain, Michael Pittman, Peyton Hillis and Anthony Alridge are already on Injured Reserve. Now, so are Young and Pope. We have NO running backs after sustaining injuries to 7 starters. SEVEN. Are you freaking kidding me?!?!?!

I hear you on that one, The Pats have 14 guys on IR since the start of the season. This has been a really crazy year in the NFL for injuries, I haven't seen anything like it.

The Broncos just fired Mike Shanahan.

Little surprised by that, even though how terrible they **** the bed this year.

I think it's dumb. You have to ride out the lean years. The guy is one of the winningest coaches in history and still does great things. True that their defense has never been great, but they have some great young talent, and I have always like Shanahan's aggressive style. I know someone has to take the heat, but jeez, they got killed with injuries all friggin season. What they really need is a great defensive coordinator.

And I have never seen a coach with Shanahan's eye for talent. He finds people that no one else will look at at turs them into great players.

Mangini? Cowher? Who will be able to take over and do a better job.

Maybe Mike Holmgren...?

Ouch. I'm bummed as well. I understand and can support it, but it's a pain nonetheless and I don't know if there's a better prospect out there.

Sometimes though, you just have to signal that it's time to move ahead. I think what this does to 53 prima donnas is tells them they're not secure... not safe. If Shan-man can drop.... so can they.

Going to be an interesting off season and draft. I wouldn't halfway be surprised to see Mangini standing next to Bowlin tomorrow at 11am at the press conference.

Cowher would rock. Scuttlebutt is that Shanny may even end up going to the Raiders. RAIDERS?!!!!!!

What the heck?

Davis and Shanahan again? nope. Raiders will win superbowl, THIS YEAR before that happens. dont f**k with raider nation, we ended the year knocking out Gruden and Kiffens old man, so the nation is happy. i personally am not, because it took out my fave player Garcia (Niner Fan here as well). But a tiny light of hope and the Bronco debacle make for a happy end of regular season for a Raider fan in the past 4 years.

If I were a Raider fan I would agree. But yeah, no way Davis and Shanahan work together again. It would be a sign of the Apocalypse.

I like Mangini, and think the Jets should have kept him, but I'm not sure that he's any more up to the job than any of the other coaches in the league. I wouldn't mind seeing Cowher come here, or Holmgren of the available coaches.
