2008-2009 NFL Thread

We got are asses handed to us yesterday by lolely Dolphins. Been almost two years since we lost in the regular season, last game was against the Dophins in 06. We got a lot of work to do on both sides of the ball, it sucks are bye week comes so early but now I'm thinking it may be a blessing, time to get our shi* straight.

What is going on in the AFC? Colts are 1-2, San Diego is 0-2, Jacksonville is 1-2, the Bills are 3-0 and the Titans are 3-0. This is going to be a very interesting year in the AFC.

I just want to come in here and brag on my Bills for being 4-0. I keep checking outside for red swirling clouds, just to make sure we aren't in some sort of parallel dimension. First time the Bills have been 4-0 since I was 8, walking to grade school saying "this'll be the year they win it all" ... yes ... the Bills gave me a depressing childhood.

My Broncos lost.

Cowboys Lost

Boston is in the playoffs; October baby ! I'd love too see RED SOX DODGERS and have MAnny pay for his sins.

John... Bronco fan? wow, I never knew... yeah the game sucked... we should have covered that onside kick... but then again it should have never come to that.

Broncos got destroyed last night by my Pats. That was whooping. The Broncos pretty much handed us the game with all those turnovers, I think it was 5 in total. Finally we were able to capitalize and Cassel started connecting with Moss and Welker. Sammy Morris had a great game also.

It does look like we lost Harrison for a while, looked pretty bad and he looked pretty defeated coming off the field. Hopefully it's not as bad as it looked.

after 6 games my falcons have the same record as the patriots. i never would have guessed that before the season started. :)

Notice I haven't been commenting on this thread much lately ;)

Yeah, I stayed away after the Chargers beat us last week. I hate the Chargers.

Neither would I. This year is like Bizzaro year in the NFL.

It is, unfortunately. Out for the year.

Yeah, that's what I figured it didn't look good. It appears that is is a torn Quadricep muscle. That's got to hurt badly. I've pulled/strained mine badly a few years back and was it ever painful, couldn't walk for 3 days the muscle was like a knot, after a few days it loosened up and I could walk but with a lot of pain, then my leg literally turned black and blue. Looks like surgery is going to be needed. Sucks, cos last year he came back after a torn MCL, I'm glad it's not his knee though.

With Brady going down, Maroney and Harrison out for the year, it's kinda like what's next.

I swear I've never seen and NFL season with more injuries accross the league than this year. It's crazy.

Well if last night was any indication, there's not too much cause for concern.

Bill Simmons had an interesting article last week about how bizarre this year is, and how it resembles 2002. His main point was that the good teams in a year like this tend to do one thing really well. And that whichever team "thing" is best, will win the Super Bowl. I hope he's not correct, because the Panthers are not really doing any one thing the best, but they're doing pretty well at most things.

So which team's "thing" is most dominant? Maybe the Titans D. We'll see.

That's true. It was nice to return to 40 point dominance.

The knock on Cassel is he hangs onto the ball too long, but 3 or 4 of those sacks he had no chance on getting the ball off. The O line gave up too many sacks but I thought they played great in the running game.

Brady is so underated when it comes to picking out defenses, picking up the blitz and then finding the open man, one of his best attributes as quarterback is recognizing when it's coming and calling it to the O-line. Even when it does get through he usually finds someone open or gets rid of it. Cassel is no where near that expierenced and it's just going to take time for him to learn that, I think he's progressively done a better job even though he's still taking sacks, I suppose that is better than him turning it over.

I really don't see the Titans winning the Superbowl. I wouldn't count the Colts, Chargers, Steelers or the Pats out just yet. The Steelers could be a legitmate threat.

As for the NFC, the Giants have played great and if someone from the NFC is going to win it's coming from the that division. The Redskins have turned some heads this year too.

Yeah, the Steel is looking good, and they're getting Willie Parker back sometime soon. I think the NFC East is probably not as good as we all thought in the beginning of the year, but the Giants are playing pretty solid.

We have an interesting 10 weeks coming, that's for sure.

Hey Brandon...how are our Broncos gonna do against Miami? (If I hear one more sportswriter refer to the "wildcat formation" I'm going to shiv myself).

Denver Sucks. We keep running on first down and can never get into a rhythm. We need to rely on the pass. The game against Miami was an absolute joke...
