OK, it took a while but here it is. "The legend of Lucas Reilly or Savage Heart" was our 24 hour movie for the NYMMM 2004 competition. 12 teams entered, 11 actually finished in time. The genre was: A monster movie or Ghost story. And the subject was: A Genious.
Our movie was the 3rd runner up out of the 11 entries and it also garnered best musical score. Check it out:

Quite interesting… I think you did a terrific job with the audio. How did you record the dialogs? I don’t think is from the camera.

The story itself cab be rather strong… but your actors; I can see them being good stage performer… the narration was good though as well as the picture. Some of the shot, however, were under lit... the camera work was also descent.

Damn, you are having way too much fun!!! :D

Keep up the great work. Always entertaining.

Btw - I was in NYC that weekend. Even walked around the park a bit. It would have been great to spot you filming.

SIMPLE DIMPLE!!!
I LOVE it.
And if I may say so, I like that your lead was from Colombia...or at least so she says.

PEACE!

Here here!

Great & simple - and actually I liked the 'theatricality' of the performances - the whole thing seemed to have its tongue firmly in its cheek - so the 'hammy' nature of the actors fit in really well.

Further on from a question in a post someone else made - the sound is real good; what did you use? Surely all that dialogue wasn't captured with the in-built mic...?

Well done Ecoloco - keep pumping this stuff out and you'll make many friends!

That was a lot of fun.

My favorite part was the frisbee throwing "my bad", it was so bizarre and funny.

Is there a web page for NYMM festival? I would love to participate in the future.

fun fun fun !
great acting!
a little raw in the production... but what can you expect for a 24 hour film...
loved it!

Re: 2004 NYMMM 3rd runner up

the other films on your site are cool...
especially the bumblebee one and the DOPA

:D

Re: 2004 NYMMM 3rd runner up

Thanks everyone. What you saw is exactly what the judges saw. No color correction (and yes, very raw). The sound was recorded from a Sony shotgun mic and we had no time to mix. We had a lot of fun, but also a lot of post production snags. Just to tell you that at 11 pm we lost all the video from our timeline and we still had to put the music in. We almost had a heart attack, since we only had 40 more minutes to have the tape out of the door. At the end we delivered the tape at 11:56 pm. Great experience though. Oh, and lloyd, the little bumble bee is my son when he was 3 months old.

Thanks again everyone.
